December Fun! Sneak Peek...

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I can't believe December is right around the corner, time flies when you are having fun in first grade! I want to thank everyone for taking time to meet with me these past few weeks. It was great to check in, brag on this amazing class, and hear feedback from students and parents.

I am excited to share some of the great lessons we have coming us this month!

 

We are starting off the month with a Gingerbread unit. This unit integrates literacy, math, and science. If you have any versions of The Gingerbread Man books we would love to borrow them. We will be reading several different versions to focus on comparing and contrasting.

 

I am also very excited to start a science unit in Room 4!

 

 

As you can see, we will be using some fun holiday tradtions to guide our upcoming science unit.

 

 

I am very excited for the fun & learning that lies ahead in Room 4 this month! :)

I just wanted to make sure everyone remembers that we only have school Monday & Tuesday next week.

Learning About Lady Liberty

Today our IU teachers wrapped up their Social Studies Unit on The Statue of Liberty. The class really enjoyed this unit. Our teachers taught some really interesting facts about the history of Lady Liberty. Be sure to ask your child what they learned. Today we took a virtual tour of The Statue of Liberty and made our own crowns!

Jumping on the bandwagon...

Well, I have finally decided to jump on the bandwagon with blogging after hearing countless testimonies from fellow teachers about the many benefits. My goal with blogging (I am raising my right hand and making this vow to myself J ) will be to post at least once a week. I will update parents about curriculum goals, class and school events as well and any other important information. Ready, set, blog! J
